About Charity

Charity took her first group yoga classes while traveling.  Her aunt talked her into coming along to a yoga class on Kauai, HI.  What better place to practice and play?  For several weeks she enjoyed regular yoga and felt all the better for it.  Limited flexibility, lots of regular sitting and driving, and an on-the-go personality, left her in need of relaxation, self-care and gentle movement.  After returning home a good friend introduced her to outdoor community classes at Schenley Plaza and then to Yoga on the Square.  There she found hospitality, community, and a restorative philosophy of teaching that meets you where you are at.

Charity began to build a foundation for a personal yoga practice leading her to the EmbodiYoga 200 Hour Immersive Yoga Study and Teacher Training and has since completed the 500 Hour training and a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 500) with Yoga Alliance.

With gratitude to many teachers, she blends writing, prayer, and stillness into her practice and believes that yoga is for everyone. Charity’s special interest in yoga service is supporting the body for rejuvenation. She has worked as a volunteer coordinator at a local hospice and has spent many years in public library work.
